JSC "DTEK Kyiv Electric Networks" repaired and reconstructed 797 energy facilities and 62 km of power lines last year, completing 5,000 repairs of cable lines, investing nearly 1 billion UAH in these projects.
"This has helped enhance the resilience of the capital's electrical grids against the challenges posed by enemy attacks and laid the groundwork for a successful heating season," - the company reported on its website on Wednesday.
The company noted that to prevent possible accidents, specialists from "DTEK Kyiv Electric Networks" conducted scheduled and emergency measures, specifically repairing over 46 km of power lines and 731 energy facilities, as well as clearing more than 158 km of routes under power lines from shrubs to prevent wire breakage due to adverse weather conditions.
As part of its investment program aimed at the capital renewal of existing facilities or the construction of new ones, "DTEK Kyiv Electric Networks" reconstructed one high-voltage substation, eight distribution points, 44 transformer points, and 15 kilometers of cable networks in 2024. Additionally, the company technically upgraded 13 high-voltage substations.
As a result, the quality and reliability of electricity supply were improved for 70,000 families in the capital.
"Despite the challenges of wartime, we maintain the electrical equipment in working order and carry out timely technical servicing. We are also gradually implementing a program for technical re-equipment and modernization. In particular, in such projects in 2024, we allocated nearly 1 billion UAH," - emphasized the General Director of "DTEK Kyiv Electric Networks," Denys Bondar.
In 2024, the company's specialists also installed nearly 39,000 smart meters in the homes of Kyiv residents.
As reported, the distribution system operators (DSOs) "DTEK Networks" repaired and reconstructed 14.1 thousand km of power lines and over 6 thousand energy facilities in 2024, which is 80% more than in 2023.
"DTEK Networks" is developing its business in electricity distribution and power grid operation in Kyiv, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, and Odesa regions. The company's DSOs serve 5.5 million households and 158 thousand enterprises.
