The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has allowed veterans to choose the timeline for implementing projects to start their own businesses under the government program "eWork," announced Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

"We are giving defenders the opportunity to select the timeline for their project to open a business within the framework of the government program 'eWork.' Today, the government adopted a resolution that will make veteran grants even more accessible. Entrepreneurs who pay taxes on the amount of the received grant within a specified period (three, five, or seven years) will have the option to receive an additional grant payment," Shmyhal wrote on his Telegram channel following the government's meeting on Tuesday.

According to the Prime Minister, 1,100 veterans and their relatives have already received over 500 million UAH in grant funds to start and develop businesses, and overall, the state has issued more than 22,000 micro-grants to citizens for starting their own businesses.

As reported by Taras Melnychuk, a representative of the Cabinet in the Verkhovna Rada, on his Telegram channel, changes have been made to the procedure for granting funds for the creation or development of a business for combat participants, individuals with war-related disabilities, and their family members.

It is stipulated that: the duration of the project implementation period can be three, five, or seven years at the recipient's choice; employment of individuals in the created jobs is a mandatory condition of the grant agreement for a period of at least 24 months within a 36-month period, or 48 months within a 60-month period, or 72 months within an 84-month period (depending on the timeline chosen by the recipient); the recipient is given the opportunity, in case of paying taxes and contributions, as well as a single contribution to mandatory state social insurance in an amount equal to the received grant during the project implementation period, to additionally apply for a grant as stipulated by the procedure.
