The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has reduced the threshold for electricity import by enterprises from 80% to 60%, below which measures to limit electricity supply will not be applied, as reported by the Ministry of Energy.

"Measures to limit electricity will not be applied to enterprises importing more than 60% of their consumption volume," – states the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Energy following the government's meeting on Tuesday.

It is noted that the changes to the Regulation on the specifics of electricity import under the legal regime of martial law were introduced by the Cabinet at the suggestion of the Ministry of Energy and taking into account the appeals from electricity market participants "to create conditions for increasing electricity imports and ensuring the stability of the energy system in conditions of its deficit."

"The government's decision was made considering the increase in power limits for electricity imports to Ukraine from European countries up to 2.1 GW. This will create additional incentives for attracting a larger volume of commercial electricity imports, facilitate the development of its generation, and ensure greater stability of the energy system in conditions of deficit," – commented the Minister of Energy Herman Halushchenko.

According to a statement in Telegram from the government representative in parliament, Taras Melnychuk, the amendments to the Regulation on the specifics of electricity import stipulate that measures to limit energy consumption – consumption limitation schedules, hourly disconnections, power consumption restrictions, and emergency shutdowns – will not be applied to non-household consumers, whose total electricity consumption in each accounting hour includes at least 60% of imported resources or at least 60% of this consumption is covered by their own electricity generation.
