At approximately 15:40, Russians launched strikes with ballistic missiles at Kryvyi Rih, hitting a residential high-rise building.
This was reported by the Chairman of the City Defense Council, Oleksandr Vilkul.
"Ballistics. The 'high-precision' monsters directly struck a four-story residential building with 32 apartments," he wrote on Telegram.
He noted that emergency services are already working at the scene.
"Unfortunately, we are preparing for severe news," Vilkul added.
The Chairman of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration, Serhiy Lysak, also reported the strike on the residential building.
"Information is being clarified. We are also determining if there are any casualties," he noted on Telegram.
Lysak urged citizens to wait for the all-clear before leaving safe locations. He also mentioned in a messenger that preliminarily, there are already five injured in Kryvyi Rih. Two of them have been rescued from the rubble and are receiving necessary medical assistance.
Updated. 16:34. The Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Dmytro Lubinets, released a photo of the destroyed building hit by the enemy ballistic missile, noting that the strike occurred on the eve of Christmas when families were preparing for the Eve.
"The terrorist state has once again revealed its true values: attacks on peaceful cities! Currently, five injuries are known. While other countries around the world celebrate Christmas, Ukrainians continue to suffer from endless Russian attacks. The terrorists do not understand human morality. They understand nothing but force," the ombudsperson emphasized in Telegram.
Updated. 16:38. It is now known that there are six injured in Kryvyi Rih. According to Lysak, half of them are in the hospital.
"A 69-year-old woman, a 72-year-old woman, and a 78-year-old man. All are in moderate condition," he specified on Telegram.
The other injured received assistance on-site.
Russian missile strikes on Kryvyi Rih - what is known
As reported by UNIAN, a few days ago, on December 19, Russians also struck Kryvyi Rih with ballistic missiles. As a result of the strike, a two-story residential building was partially destroyed, three apartment buildings and 17 private homes were damaged. More than 20 vehicles were also damaged. Six people were injured in the enemy attack, including a 15-year-old girl.
Prior to that, on November 11, occupation forces struck a five-story building in Kryvyi Rih, resulting in the destruction of an entire entrance. In this shelling, a mother and her three children were killed, and 14 people were injured, two of whom were children.
