From January to November of this year, 2,886 people died and 29,484 were injured in Ukraine as a result of traffic accidents. This information comes from the patrol police as reported by UkrAvtoprom.
When comparing this period to the same time frame in 2023, the number of traffic accidents resulting in fatalities and/or injuries increased by 9%.
The most common causes of deaths in traffic accidents were:
- Speeding violations - 1,608 people;
- Maneuvering rule violations - 442 people;
- Pedestrian crossings at unregulated locations - 148 people.
It is also reported that the highest number of traffic accidents occurs between 5 PM and 7 PM, with Friday being the most dangerous day of the week.

Recall that on December 1, a high-profile traffic accident occurred in Dnipro. According to reports, a BMW driver collided with a Ford vehicle that was making a turning maneuver. As a result of the accident, a child lost their life, and several others sustained injuries.
Later, near Lviv, there was another high-profile accident caused by the actions of a BMW driver. This major traffic incident resulted in the deaths of seven people, including 24-year-old violinist Renata Dzigasova, the daughter of Ukrainian singer Irina Borysyuk.
