The police reported suspicions against a passenger of a BMW vehicle involved in a fatal traffic accident on December 1 in Dnipro.

According to the Dnipro region police, the actions of the underage passenger have been classified under part 3 of Article 136 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - failure to assist a person in a life-threatening condition.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as a local resident born in 2005, and investigators have initiated criminal proceedings under part 2 of Article 286 (violation of traffic safety rules or transportation operation).

The authorities have traced the route of the BMW leading up to the fatal accident and have included video footage from surveillance cameras in the case. A series of expert examinations have also been appointed, including molecular-genetic analysis.

Investigators have submitted a petition to the court requesting the suspect be held in custody. The driver faces imprisonment for a term of 3 to 8 years and a ban on operating vehicles.

Fatal Accident in Dnipro

As reported by UNIAN, on the evening of December 1, a BMW collided with a Ford in Dnipro. The police noted that at the moment of the collision, the driver of the second vehicle was making a turning maneuver.

Shocking videos and photos from the accident scene have circulated online. Subsequently, law enforcement reported the death of a 10-year-old child who was in the Ford. Two adults and two children were also hospitalized.
