The former head of the Brovary District State Administration, Vladimir Maibozhenko, who was involved in a drunk driving accident with four injured parties in April 2024, has received a verdict from the court, as reported by Brovarymedia.

In the ruling announced on January 27 by Judge Tatyana Vasilenko of the Brovary Court, it was stated that Maibozhenko must pay a fine of 34,000 UAH. He was also stripped of his driving rights for three years.

Additionally, the former official is required to cover 31,432 UAH for court examinations and other legal expenses.

The court also decided to return Maibozhenko his Volvo, which had been impounded.

What is known about the accident involving Maibozhenko

As previously reported by UINAN, on April 26, 2024, the intoxicated head of the district administration hit pedestrians in Brovary. According to a video circulated online, the driver was intoxicated, with a breathalyzer reading of 2.31 promille. Shortly after, the Kyiv Regional State Administration announced that he would be dismissed from his position.

On the following day, the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, dismissed the head of the Brovary District State Administration after the drunk driving incident, and the Shevchenkivsky District Court of Kyiv placed the suspect in custody.

However, in September, the Brovary City District court released Maibozhenko from custody. It was noted that during the court session, the suspect admitted his guilt and mentioned that he had compensated the medical expenses for two of the four injured parties.
