"TK-Domestic Textiles" is exploring the opportunity to secure grants for the installation of solar power plants.

The company "TK-Domashny Textil" (TK-DT), part of the "Textil-Kontakt" group (TK Group), is exploring the opportunity to participate in grant programs aimed at installing solar power plants at its facilities, as reported by TK-DT.

The company "TK-Domashniy Tekstil" (TK-DT), part of the "Textil-Kontakt" group (TK Group), is exploring the possibility of participating in grant programs for the installation of solar power plants at its facilities, as reported by TK-DT.

"Even if you have a new generator, no matter how powerful it is, it breaks down every 3-4 months. And repair and service companies have queues for repairs that extend several months ahead because there are not enough technicians, most of whom have been mobilized. In such cases, the enterprise faces forced downtime for several days and incurs significant costs," the company explained to Interfax-Ukraine regarding its plans to participate in grant programs.

The company estimates its electricity consumption for all "TK-Domashniy Tekstil" enterprises in 2023 to be around 1.5 MW. According to their information, TK-DT has been preparing for electricity outages since last year.

"We have purchased powerful generators and battery storage systems. This allows us to operate during temporary outages. Practically none of the light industry companies can afford to have dual capacities for generators (one operational and one backup). Because a generator with a capacity of 150 kW+ costs approximately 1.5 million UAH today," TK-DT noted.

When asked whether the company is ready to install solar power plants using its own funds, TK-DT emphasized that this is possible, but "it would delay other projects that could help increase the quantity and diversify the production of goods."

"This means that during this period, we will not create new jobs and will not pay more taxes than we could," the company concluded.

"TK-Domashniy Tekstil" is a leader in the production of fabrics, home textiles, and children's products in Ukraine. Its asset portfolio includes one of the few finishing factories for cotton fabrics in Chernihiv, "TK-DT Chernihiv." It also owns sewing factories in Kyiv, Odesa, Ternopil, and Chernihiv; a shoe factory in Chyhyryn; and a knitting production facility.

TK Group was founded in 1995. Currently, it represents a holding that encompasses the entire range of services in the textile industry - from raw materials and threads to finished solutions for B2B, B2G, and B2C clients.
